The 11thIAPR Workshop on Document Analysis Systems will be held in Tours city, France, in April 2014. DAS’14 will build on the tradition of past workshops held in Kaiserslautern, Germany (1994), Malvern, USA (1996), Nagano, Japan (1998), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2000), Princeton, USA (2002), Florence, Italy (2004), Nelson, New Zealand (2006), Nara, Japan (2008), Cambridge, USA (2010) and Gold Coast, Australia (2012).
For the first time, an Industrial Program Committee will take part to the Workshop. This committee is composed of researchers coming from companies, who are very active in the DIA field and used in participating to the DAS Workshop. Each submission will then be reviewed by 2 academic researchers from the Program Committee and one researcher coming from this Industrial committee.

WORKSHOP FORMAT 

As the previous editions of the Workshop, DAS’2014 will be a 100% participation, single-track workshop with guest speakers, oral, poster, and demo sessions as well as working group discussions. The workshop proceedings will be published by Ithe Conference Publishing Service (CSP).

DESCRIPTION : 

We are pleased to announce the 11th IAPR International Workshop on Document Analysis Systems will take place at the Universite Francois-Rabelais, Tours, France during April 7-10th 2014.

The region of the Loire Valley, also known  as “the garden of France”, is studded with  “Les Chateaux de la Loire” and famous residences such as: Chenonceau, Azay-Le-Rideau, Chambord, Loches, Chinon and Amboise, to name but a few.

Tours, its capital, is ideally located in the heart of this Valley of Kings with many architectural treasures to be found within an 80 km radius. Not only is it a region of well-being, art of living, gastronomy, culture and history, it is also the region known for the quality of its spoken French! Every year the “Institut de Touraine” language school takes in students from around the world who come to learn or practice French.

This region has just registered the trademark "Loire Valley": "Here Living is an Art" and it cultivates the art of welcoming and entertaining well. In this land, known as the "cradle of the History of France", you can walk in the footsteps of great historical figures: Kings and Queens of France, Rabelais, Ronsard, Balzac, Descartes, Courteline, Anatole France, Calder and many others. One of them is the world-renowned genius, Leonardo da Vinci.

If the chateaux are renowned, the vineyards are none the less so and their names tickle the taste buds: MONTLOUIS, VOUVRAY, CHINON and BOURGUEIL.

The 11th IAPR Workshop on Document Analysis Systems will build on the tradition established by past DAS workshops held in Kaiserslautern, Germany (1994); Malvern, PA (1996); Nagano, Japan (1998); Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2000); Princeton, NJ (2002); Florence, Italy (2004); Nelson,New Zealand (2006); Nara, Japan (2008); Cambridge USA (2010) and Queensland, Australia (2012).
